Dr. Jesse Opakas
Consultant Clinical & Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Jesse Opakas is a highly experienced Consultant Clinical and Radiation Oncologist, with over a decade of expertise in cancer care, clinical leadership, and oncology system development both in Kenya and internationally.
He is widely recognized for his role in advancing access to modern cancer treatment, having led and contributed to the establishment and operationalization of advanced radiotherapy services, including linear accelerators, brachytherapy, and comprehensive treatment planning systems. His work has significantly enhanced the availability and quality of cancer care in the region.
Dr. Opakas is a recipient of the Conquer Cancer Foundation Award (2016) from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and has participated in programs by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
He is registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board and the Health Professions Council of South Africa, and is a member of the Kenya Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and European Society of Medical Oncology.
